As Murtech has in depth knowledge of Spec Air, ARES, Applied Air , Temprite equipment based on many years of representing these brands we have the ability to manufacture direct unit replacements for their product lines.

1. Direct Fired Make-up Air Units w/ Integral Packaged DX Cooling

Murtech offers a comprehensive product line of direct fired equipment with integral packaged DX cooling ranging from:

• 2,000 CFM to 250,000 CFM
• 1 Ton to 180 Ton nominal DX cooling capacity.

The outdoor equipment is available in numerous configurations such as end, down, top discharge, stacked arrangement and vertical up-flow or down-flow and is custom to suit specification for onsite requirements. Units are also available for installation indoor with ducted condenser coils with centrifugal blowers.

The cooling provides the highest efficiencies (EER) in the industry by utilizing digital scroll compressors, digital superheat controller, electronic expansion valves, and variable speed condenser fans. Cooling has been energy performance verified by Intertek / ETL to standard CSA C746:2006 and AHRI 340/360:2007

Digital scroll compressors with rotolock valves set on vibration isolators within a compressor vestibule adjacent to the evaporator header. All refrigeration valves and controls are also located in the vestibule. All access doors are double wall hinged with handles for easy access for service and maintenance. Units are provided with winter filter sections which provide for year-round filtration in colder climates where summer filters freeze in winter months.

2. Indirect Fired Make-up Air Units w/ Integral Packaged DX Cooling

Murtech offers a comprehensive product line of IF heating and cooling make-up air units, with integral packaged DX cooling. Standard product offerings range from:

• 2,000 CFM to 70,000 CFM 
• 1 Ton to 180 Ton nominal DX cooling capacity but can but designed for larger capacities.  

The equipment is available with one of 3 types of indirect heating section:

• 4 Pass stainless steel drum & tube heat exchanger w/ power burner for 20:1 turndown 
• 2 Pass stainless steel drum & tube heat exchanger w/ power burner for up to 60:1 turndown 
• Stainless steel tubular heat exchanger w/ ID fan & modulating burner control for up to 15:1 turndown 

Units can be provided end, down, top, stacked, vertical up-flow or down-flow arrangements. Units are also available for indoor installation with ducted condenser coils with centrifugal blowers.

The equipment can be provided with one of 4 types of heat recovery: 

• Energy Recovery Wheel-Latent & Sensible Recovery w/ VFD 
• Heat Pipes- Tilt Control or Face & Bypass Dampers 
• Air to Air Plate Type Heat Recovery Core 
• Glycol Run Around Loop 

3. Industrial Units w/ DX Cooling

Highly customized units are designed to meet the specific needs of the end user. Standard product offerings range from:

• 2,000 CFM to 100,000 CFM  
• 1 Ton to 180 Ton nominal DX cooling capacity. (can be designed for larger capacities) 
• Available in a wide array of ozone friendly refrigerants. (410a, 407c, 134a) 
• Available with evaporator & condensing coils with Heresite or other specific epoxy coatings.  
• Copper piping throughout the unit can also be coated with Heresite.  
• Stainless steel tubing is an available option for piping between coils and compressors. 
• Units can be provided for year-round operation down to -50°F utilizing heated receivers, hot gas bypass, and head master controls.  
• Filtration is also a major consideration in these applications and units offer filters from 2” Merv 8 pleated through 99.9% HEPA filters. 
• Evaporators and condenser coils are often selected with fin counts of 8 to 10 FPI to facilitate proper cleaning and maintenance of the coils in these harsh environments.  
• Units available for the projects which require make-up air at 39°F leaving air temperatures year round. 
• Some of the highest efficiencies (EER) in the industry obtained by utilizing digital scroll compressors, digital superheat controller, electronic expansion valves, and variable speed condenser fans (floating head design).

4. Explosion Proof & Hazardous Location HVAC Equipment

• Murtech can provide custom explosion proof heating and cooling units for industrial and institutional users. Standard product offering ranges from:

600 CFM to 150,000 CFM 
• 1 Ton to 180 Ton nominal DX cooling capacity 
• Units are available in a wide array of ozone friendly refrigerants. (410a, 407c, 134a). 
• Heating is available with electric heater, glycol heating coils, and steam coils. 
• Cooling is available with chilled water or DX cooling coils. Cooling units with integral DX cooling utilize scroll compressors. 

Units are designed to meet Class 1 Division 1 and 2, Groups B, C, and D, and Class II Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G. All units are provided with direct drive plenum fans and explosion proof motors. All the wiring is run inside rigid threaded conduit, color coded and individually number tagged on each end to JIC standards. 

Units are available in vertical wall mounted arrangements as well as horizontal roof mounted models. Explosion proof HVAC air conditioners for Class 1 are available for indoor and outdoor use. 

5. Desiccant Dehumidifiers

The desiccant dehumidification wheel is designed to provide maximum moisture removal with minimum pressure drop, and provide another tool to control humidity effectively and efficiently particularly in the low humidity range. 

They are widely used in the humidity control of ice rinks, refrigerated warehouses, and supermarkets. Standard product offering ranges from 2,000 to 35,000 CFM, however larger systems are available. 

All the units are customized for specific requirements and can be integrated into a complete custom HVAC unit with integral DX cooling and with additional indirect fired heating. 

 

Reactivation is available in either 25% or 50% of the wheel. The 50/50 split is used when integral DX cooling is incorporated as part of the system and the condenser heat (heat of rejection) is used for reactivation of the wheel. The wheels are available with 2 types of desiccant, Silica Gel (WSG) desiccant and specialty Molecular Sieve (LT3) desiccant. WSG is more widely used, and LT3 for low inlet % relative humidity and when a low dew point is required. The humidity controller w/ digital display is provided to very accurately control the humidity removal within the conditioned space.
